Titans vs. Colts
Colts or Titans? That is the question.
Without getting too Shakespearean-- that actually is the question I ponder when delivering sports to East Tennessee each night. This year, it's become especially critical.
With the Titans in the midst of a miserable season, and the Colts making a serious chase on NFL history, it makes one wonder where the coverage should focus. Then, of course, there is the Peyton Manning factor.
I've gotten comments from viewers I meet that range from
I could care less about the Colts, even with Manning (a former Vol) at quarterback. I support Tennessee's team.
to
I could care less about a carpet-bagging NFL franchaise planting its roots in Middle Tennessee, I'm a Vol fan, a Manning fan, and therefore, a Colts fan.
Obviously, I paraphrase.
Interesting points --both. The easy solution for me, is to cover both. They are NOT mutually exclusive. In most years, our coverage has been heavy on the Titans, with some attention given to the Colts. This year, with Manning chasing history, it's been a big story for us.
There is no wrong answer. Just opinions and deep-rooted feelings that divide fans on both sides. Your thoughts? Just curious. Titans blue, or Colts blue?

You should cover both. If
You should cover both. If only Knoxville could have another college football team to watch. Tennessee fans are so fickle, so if they have two teams to choose, odds are that one of them would be good so just show that one that is winning.
The NFL is full of
The NFL is full of "carpet-bagging" teams. The Rams, the Raiders, the Ravens, just to mention a few. Pick the teams that you like and stay loyal, or don't. It's only football!
