Draft Dodgin'

Ok, I know. The Titans will take Matt Leinart with the 3rd pick in Saturday's NFL draft. But, would it be nuts to skip on Leinart--and do I dare suggest they take outstanding Virginia offensive lineman D'Brickashaw Ferguson instead?
I won't make a case against taking Leinart because, well, I've tried and even I admit-- it sounds crazy. But no matter who the Titans have at quarterback in future seasons, they still need a solid offensive line to protect and block. Ferguson could be the anchor. Despite concerns over his (lack of) weight, NFL scouts and general managers rave about his skills at left tackle.
Citizenship doesn't often count for much in professional sports-- but after taking a thug-like Pacman Jones last year, Ferguson's character, citizenship, and intelligence make him a smart guy-- and a smart choice.
The NFL is all about being conventional, and conventional wisdom says take a skill player if you need one-- especially a 2-time national champion quarterback who could be reunited with his college coach and guarantee ticket sales.
So, the Titans will take Leinart.
But they should consider Ferguson.
