Gulp!
The Vol basketball team is officially on a late-season slide.
But let's put things in perspective. UT is still 20-6. They're East Divison Champs in the SEC. They've got a first-round bye in the SEC Tournament next week. And they haven't broken my confidence that this is a team that can make some serious noise in March.
The most concerning thing about their losses to Arkansas and Kentucky is that in both cases, they let massive leads slip away.
Not unusual in basketball, but two-straight games makes for an uncomfortable trend.
Vandy is next, and it won't be easy. A loss in Nashville means Tennessee will have dropped four of their last five games, and they'd enter postseson on a three-game losing streak.
Bruce Pearl met his biggest challenge when he arrived on campus last spring. Now, he's got a new one.
