The Sox, And The Snow!

Two quick photos from a recent trip. My wife and I made a visit to Toronto to see the Red Sox. The Blue Jays were the home team, but only officially. The Sox have a national, and in this case, international following.

Red Sox vs. Blue Jays

We were surrounded by Sox fans who came from Boston, Nova Scotia, and Knoxville (us), to see their beloved team. Sox won 4-1.

The main purpose of our trip was to spend a few days with my wife's family in New York. As in, Upstate New York. Where sometimes it snows in April. Like, a lot. They got 8 inches.

Snow in syracuse

As bizarre as it sounds, it's not THAT unusual. Here's what her parents' neighborhood looked like on April 16th! I have nothing good to say about it, except that it melted by April 20th. I've often said that Central New York and East Tennessee aren't very different. This, however, is one HUGE difference.

Jim, Manic weather has hit

Jim,

Manic weather has hit all over the country. Here in Mid-Missouri, we had snow on St. Patricks Day, in the 70's and 80's for the next two and a half weeks, flurries around Easter Weekend....and then the following Friday night again. Now, back in the 80's again.

Being back in my home state reminded me of the old addage about Missouri weather that is often used accurately in East Tennessee....don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change.

Take care Jim!! All the best!

Jim, I hope you do not

Jim,

I hope you do not bring all of that snow and cold weather back to Knoxville with you! According to Matt Hinkin tonight our weather is supposed to be picture perfect for the weekend and maybe my daughter and I will actually get to wear our Easter Dresses!!

Only two weeks late......
