Bonds Chases Aaron

Barry Bonds has done it again. He hit another home run today. Like it or not, he will break Henry Aaron's record-- at this pace, by next Friday, or something like that.

Aaron won't be there for the chase. And I don't blame him. I remember when Aaron hit #715 off Al Downing. I was watching that night-- April 8, 1974. It was an event that transcended sports. Aaron was praised by most, but insulted and threatened by others. His career spanned the Civil Rights Movement. His greatest baseball accomplishment symbolically underscored what Jackie Robinson started.

I was lucky enough to meet Henry Aaron once. All that stuff you hear about dignity and class-- it's true.

I was foolish enough to believe Bonds would fade away-- not his ego, but his body. He's aging and he's injured, and the feds say he perjured. But Bonds is going nowhere-- except to the top of baseball's most cherished list-- like it, or not.

Barry Bonds ruined and

Barry Bonds ruined and tainted the game of baseball for me, he should not only not be allowed to break Henry Aaron's record, but he should be banned from the game. If not for steriods, Bonds wouldn't even be close to Aaron's home run record, PERIOD!!!
I can't even stand to watch a game on TV because of Bonds, he is the worst thing that ever happened to the game!!

I am a baseball fan and I

I am a baseball fan and I think that if Barry Bonds is hitting homeruns without steroids, then good for him.

If he is using steroids, which I believe he is (or has) then Hank Aaron's record should not be allowed to be broken in this way.

Men like Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, etc did it the old fashioned way, with pure power and strength.

Not with drugs!!
