Earnhardt's Next Move

Ladies and gentlemen.... staaaaart your specuuuulation!

With Dale Earnhardt Jr's decision to leave D.E.I. Racing after this season, fans are wondering where NASCAR'S most popular driver will go. One possibility is Richard Childress Racing, the team his late father won six NASCAR titles for.

That leads to further speculation that team owner Richard Childress may bring the famous #3 out of unofficial retirement. It was more than a number. It was Earnhardt, Senior's trademark. Childress owns it, but has not used it since the Dale's death in 2001. Will Childress really consider bringing #3 back?

Don't do it. Not even for Dale, Jr.

Junior is NASCAR's most popular driver, and with good reason. Junior doesn't drip with the disingenuous attitude found in some of today's athletes--NASCAR included. He's realtively humble, sincere, and unpretentious. And he's Southern. For a sport that's gone global, NASCAR's most loyal fans still live down here. That connection can't be overlooked.

Oh yeah, and his last name is EARNHARDT. Plenty of Dale Sr. fans have adopted Junior as THEIR driver. To a degree, that is Junior's biggest challenge. He's racing in his father's shadow.

Junior needs to be recognized for the driver that he is. Painting a #3 on the side of his car next year won't get it done.

I think everyone knows that

I think everyone knows that Dale jr. will never be the driver that his dad was.But who is,No other driver in his time was, and certianly none of the so called young guns are given equal cars.He could see the air in the draft, come to the front on the inside, outside,or the middle.Unheard of until he did it.Dale jr. is as good as any of todays drivers he just needs a change and the right equiment,Like RCR,JGR,and HMS can offer.I think Mother Teresa has run out of good deeds and needs to try to forgive herself.

Wrong! Not a good move.

Wrong! Not a good move. Don't forget that he was going for third in the points last year when HE readjusted his brake bias and spun out. That was not a DEI problem, it was a Dale Jr. problem. He cannot drive like BIG E and will always fail in that manner. Loyalty founded Nascar and made it into what it is now. Just be loyal and true Jr. BTW if BIG E wanted Jr. to have the company....he would of willed it to him.

I believe Dale Jr. is making

I believe Dale Jr. is making the right move. Things haven't been going too well this year and it is time for a change. Dale Jr is racing in his father's shadow, but people need to realize that he is not his father.
