UT Football Picture Day

Submitted by Jim Wogan on August 3, 2008 - 12:15am

Picture dayPicture Day for Tennessee football.  As usual, Neyland Stadium was drenched in sunshine and dripping with high humidity.

Vols have fun at photo sessionThe players were dressed in full gear-- making it a not-so-comfortable experience. Fortunately, some of the questions kept their minds off the heat.

Here are some interesting tidbits I learned at this year's event. None of them will have an impact on the outcome of a game.

*No one calls Rico McCoy by his full first name, which is Ricardo.

*Arian Foster admits he can't help but think about a possible career in the NFL.

*Phillip Fulmer painted part of Neyland Stadium. It was his job (really!) when he was a student-athlete at UT.

*Kicker Daniel Lincoln says most kickers are freaks. He doesn't include himself in that group.

Quarterback jonathan crompton interviewed*Offensive coordinator Dave Clawson was given the suit he wore for his cover photo on Knoxville Magazine.

*Clawson didn't get to keep the suit.

The Vols open the season on September 1st at UCLA. There will be plenty of opportunities for Xs and Os before then.  Picture Day was about football and fun, and sometimes that's really a good thing.
