Good Intentions, Bad Timing for WNBA

Submitted by Jim Wogan on July 22, 2008 - 10:01pm

With good intentions, I really planned to run WNBA highlights tonight.  Even without the brawl.

Four former Lady Vols were in the league's showcase game-- Los Angeles vs. Detroit. It had the makings of a classic-- it was a potential championship preview and it had major interest for our local viewers.

Then the brawl happened.  Candance Parker got into a smackdown with Plenette Pierson with just seconds left in the game. Players were ejected. Parker and others likely will be suspended.

I'm sure there are viewers who believe I only showed the highlights for the brawl.   That's not the case.   But the brawl moved the game from page C3 to page C1.
