Vols vs. Florida
Submitted by Jim Wogan on September 20, 2008 - 2:18pm.
It's almost time. The Vols host Florida on a near perfect day at Neyland Stadium. It's obvious fans from both sides are ready. I snapped off these pictures as I approached the stadium today.
The Vols will face a stiff test, and their recent history has not been good against Florida when Tim Tebow is involved.
As the players exited the tunnel into the stadium, you could almost sense a different "feel" around this place. It's an SEC game, against a division rival. I offered defensive line coach Steve Caldwell some words of good luck as he made his way to the field.
Keys to the game, pretty easy. Run the ball. Stick with the run. Put some pressure on Tebow, and make absolutely NO mistakes.
Final words of prayer from the pastor who delievered the pregame invocation.. "Amen, go Vols." That may have been a first.
After the 1st quarter, I leave my perch in the press box and return to the studio to prepare tonight's coverage. More AFTER the game.
