What I Learned at UT Media Day
What I learned at the Vols 2009 football media day: 1) Wear sunscreen. 2) I was amazed so many players were willing to talk on such a hot and humid day. 3) Coaches, not so much. I think they consider Media Day a necessary evil, and who can blame them when they're peppered with the same questions at every turn. 4) Gerald Jones is a class act and will focus on playing receiver this season-- something he's excited about. 5) I can't take self-portrait photos while working, so I settled for taking this shot while some of my good friends were working.
6) Freshman running back David Oku is excited to be on campus and wants to be in the hunt for significant playing time. 7) Wear sunscreen. Wait, I already said that. 7-again) Jonathan Crompton sounded upbeat and positive during his interviews. 8) I hope he maintains that exuberance all season. 9) It's impossible to get all the interviews you want (or need) in two-hours. 10) Former Maryville tight end Aaron Douglas wasn't surprised with his off-season move to the offensive line. 11) I can't wait for the season to start.
