St. Louis- A Great Place To Be

Submitted by Jim Wogan on March 24, 2010 - 10:55pm

Arrived here at sunset. The St. Louis Arch-- a symbol of westward expansion and the building of a nation-- could be symbolic for the Vols this weekend too. The Gateway to the Final Four?  It will take a near perfect game against Ohio St. Friday night, but bigger upsets have already happened. Case in point, top-seed Kansas isn't here-- victims in a loss to 9th seed Northern Iowa.

Tennessee players arrived here shortly after 8 p.m. Central Time. Bruce Pearl was the first off the bus, and was greeted by autograph seekers at the team hotel. Even without an Elite Eight appearance, Pearl is a college basketball coaching star. Think about it, the Vols are one of just 16 teams still playing. St. Louis is one four cities that will be the focus of the sports world this weekend. It's not a bad place to be.
