Draft Dealing
Submitted by Jim Wogan on May 1, 2006 - 1:24am.I waited by the phone all weekend, but no call from Paul Tagliabue. I guess it's back to the regular job Monday.
A few quick (serious) thoughts on the NFL draft, as it relates to Tennessee.
Draft Dodgin'

Ok, I know. The Titans will take Matt Leinart with the 3rd pick in Saturday's NFL draft. But, would it be nuts to skip on Leinart--and do I dare suggest they take outstanding Virginia offensive lineman D'Brickashaw Ferguson instead?
A Spring Fling!
Submitted by Jim Wogan on April 9, 2006 - 12:57am.It was a comforting way to end spring practice.
The Vol football team put on an encouraging show at the Orange and White game. Most impressive was Erik Ainge.
Ok, I know. If you're not a Vol football fan, your first response is to bash me for making too much of an exhibition game played in front of 15,000 fans. But coming on the heels of last year's 6-loss, offensively disorganized season, this--- is significant.
Gator's NCAA Glory Benefits Vols
Submitted by Jim Wogan on April 4, 2006 - 3:29am.With Florida winning the NCAA title, much will be made of the Vols two wins over the Gators this season. And it should. What Tennessee did this season was beyond phenomenal!
At this point, Gator fans couldn't care less about UT's wins. But Vol fans are basking in the Gator's glory. The Florida national title only enhances what UT did-- twice.
Random Thoughts
Submitted by Jim Wogan on April 3, 2006 - 2:19pm.Some thoughts as I return from basketblog exile.
The weather is warming, but there's still a cold chill in the air. Have you seen the Vol offense in spring practice? Ice Cold, baby.
And now one of their top receivers may be hurt.
Covering the NCAA tournament is like driving a car 900 miles an hour, and then slamming on the brakes. For three weeks, the players, fans, and media scramble at a mad pace. Then, it's over.
