Vols Score 121 And Beat (no kidding) Long Beach State

Saturday is practice day in Columbus. After scoring a record 121 points against Long Beach State, do the Vols really need it? Friday's game sure beat that nail-biter against Winthrop last year!
After all those points, the final 3 were the most controversial. Bruce Pearl says the plan was for the Vols to take a shot clock violation on their last possession (they were leading 118-87). But when a Long Beach State player came out to defend walk-on, reserve guard Tanner Wild, he let loose with a shot. Of course, it went in. Just like everything else the Vols put-up on Friday.
UT says the will have something official to say, today, about the condition of (apparently) injured forward Wayne Chism. He left the game in the 2nd half Friday. Initially, no one was quite sure what happened. The NCAA even came to the media room and asked if we had videotape the UT medical staff could review, to see how Chism got hurt. Chism returned to the bench, but did not play the rest of the game.
A UT official told me Friday night that he believes Chism was examined after the game-- for a possible neck or head injury.
Sunday, it's Virginia. One more win, and it's off to San Antonio--- where it's GOT to be warmer.
