Rockin' and Rollin' With The Lady Vols

I know, it's only rock & roll, but I like it. A VERY long day in Cleveland started Saturday morning at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It was for a story we aired in our Lady Vols Final Fortunes special. We were working, really!

After that, the entire day was spent at The Q-- Quicken Loans Arena. Press conferences, interviews, pictures, practice, meeting old friends. We did it all.

The four teams gave their pregame assessments during a round of morning press conferences. All that took place after Candace Parker was named national player of the year. Later, more interviews, including a one-on-one I did with Head Coach Pat Summitt-- in the shower! Really. The Lady Vols worked hard to allow me three minutes to tape an segment with Summitt for our show. The only private room available was-- believe it or not-- the shower. A first for me. And the coach offered a classic one-liner at the conclusion of the interview.

The Final Four also allows the opportunity to catch-up on old friendships. I met former players Michelle Snow and Tasha Butts. Snow's had a 6-year allstar career in the WNBA. Butts recently signed with the Houston Comets, and could be Snow's teammate this season. Snow also leaves for Italy next month (with current Lady Vol Candace Parker) to train with the USA national team.

Cloudy and cold here-- another typical spring day in the Great Lakes region.
