Battle By The Bay (Tuesday)

For a few weeks now, I've been joking about the possibility of earthquakes in California. It keeps my colleagues, who've never been here, on edge. Five minutes after picking-up our rental car, and driving north from SFO on the 101 freeway, the radio reported a 3.0 quake in Berkeley! The ground is starting to shake, for real!

Outside of some minor seismic activity, all appears normal out here. After arrival, we shot material for two stories which will air later this week. The Vols don't arrive until late Thursday.

The big news in Knoxville concerns Erik Ainge's slightly injured throwing hand. A jammed finger on Monday at practice. The coaches and players aren't making much of it.

Tuesday entry from the Bay Area is short. We left Knoxville at 10am. It's now 3am Wednesday. Sleep is needed. Wednesday presents a full day of challenges, topping things off with a one-hour prime time special on the UT football team. Battle By The Bay-- Preseason airs at 8pm tonight on WATE 6.
