Titans Stun Giants- It Was Weird

NFL teams just don't comeback from 21 point deficits in the 4th quarter. But then again, NFL teams don't play quite as inept as the NY Giants did Sunday in Nashville. I was stunned. But not as stunned as Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin.

The Titans will get plenty of credit for the win, and Vince Young IS remarkable. But the Titans won because the Giants imploded. Plain and simple.

Young was stopped twice on 4th down late in the game. On 4th and 9, he was hit high by cornerback Frank Walker. Drive continues-- Titans score. On 4th and 10, defensive lineman Mathias Kiwanuka had Young sacked, and GAVE UP ON THE PLAY. Drive continues-- Titans score again.

Oh yeah, then Eli throws the interception that sets up Rob Bironas' game winning 48-yard field goal.

It was the weirdest game I've witnessed, since:

A. The Vols' win over Arkansas in 1998
B. The Titans' win over Buffalo in the 1999 playoffs

The Titans' win nearly ranks up there with Buffalo's 38 point comeback in the 1992 playoffs against Houston. Tennessee didn't win a playoff game Sunday-- but the game may have knocked New York out of the playoffs. And in a way, it will always be remembered as Vince Young's early signature game. He can thank the Giants for that.

Vince Young is the man. If

Vince Young is the man. If we score a WR next year for him in the draft the future is looking good.
