Tampa Latest.. Wednesday

Good news from Tampa. Bret Smith is back for the Vols and ready to play. Smith doesn't lead the Vols in receiving stats, but his impact shouldn't be underestimated. He's a big play guy, and makes defenders pay attention on inside pass routes.

The Penn State media tried to make a little controversy today by asking Fulmer which conference is deeper, the Big 10 or SEC. Fulmer's been coaching too long to be drawn into something like that. He started to answer, ended by saying they're both good-- and then added "nice try" to the reporter. Everyone laughed. It was one of those nice, light moments that make doing this fun. With six days left before the game, we may need more of those.

By the way, Tampa may be the flattest city in America.
